The staff of KCRW, an NPR supported radio station in the Los Angeles area, has filed for union representation. The filing with the National Labor Relations Board called for a bargaining unit of 95 employees which included anchors, producers, and DJ hosts.
I was brought on to design the logo for the KCRW staff using the current KCRW typeface in this We Make KCRW logo. As an avid listener of KCRW, this cause felt important to me, especially when learning more about how tough it is to live on KCRW’s current wages. After months at the bargaining table, the employees at KCRW reached a fair deal and have since unionized.
